CARL Piergianni is set to return to the Latics line-up after his one-match ban, but defender Alan Sheehan is ruled out of tomorrow's crunch clash with Carlisle United through injury.
Sheehan came into the side for Piergianni, who missed the midweek defeat to Walsall after accumulating five bookings. But the player-coach had to be substituted after just 10 minutes after suffering a recurrence of a calf injury.
Head coach Keith Curle does not yet know the extent of the damage, but Sheehan is not fit to face Carlisle.
"We're just waiting to get the results back from a scan," said Curle.
"It's disappointing. He's had a long standing injury there that we've been trying to nurse through. Ideally he would probably needed an extra week but needs must.
"He thought he was going to be able to manage it but he's felt something so he came straight off, which is the right thing to do."
