DYLAN Bahamboula, Benny Couto and Harry Vaughan have again been named on the bench for Oldham Athletic this afternoon, fuelling speculation that they will be sold in the January transfer window.
Couto and Vaughan both signed their first professional contracts in 2021 so would command a fee. But Bahamboula is in the last year of his two-year contract and would be free to leave in the summer, so Latics are understood to be looking to get what they can, while they can.
Bahamboula was on trial with Middlesbrough during pre-season but a move to the north east never materialised and he returned to Boundary Park to start the season with Latics after recovering from Covid, scoring in his first appearance of the campaign in the Carabao Cup win over Tranmere Rovers.
Vaughan scored his first senior goal in October, with Couto grabbing his in the Boxing Day defeat to Scunthorpe United, in what was his last start.
Latics' interim head coach Selim Benachour has made one change from the team which drew 0-0 at Barrow in the final game of 2021, with Jamie Bowden replacing Jamie Hopcutt in the starting XI.
Latics: Leutwiler, Clarke, Hart, McGahey, Piergianni, Adams, Whelan, Hope, Keillor-Dunn, Bowden, Diarra.
Subs: Rogers, Couto, Stobbs, Turner, Bahamboula, Hopcutt, Vaughan.
