SWINDON Town boss Ben Garner had cause for complaint despite his side stretching their unbeaten away run with a fourth win on the spin.
Tyreece Simpson’s second half brace sealed the points for the Robins at Boundary Park.
But Garner felt the 19-year-old should have had more to show for his afternoon’s work, after having what he deemed to be a legitimate goal chalked off when the linesman deemed the ball had gone out of play before reaching Simpson in the box.
“No way was the ball out of play when it was crossed in," said Garner.
“How can a linesman on the opposite side of the pitch have seen that from where he was?
“I’ve seen it back and the ball was definitely still in.
“It’s a real shame because a talented young 19-year-old has just been robbed of a first league hat-trick.
“Tyreece has been brilliant this season and that’s six goals now in his first season in league football, but he should have been taking the match ball home.
“He deserved that.”
Swindon have now gone eight unbeaten on the road this season, and Garner was please with the way they responded to last weekend’s home defeat to Bradford City to climb to fifth in the table.
“The effort from every single player has been first class this week,” he said.
“There’s a fantastic spirit in the camp, and we’re a really close group.
“You need that if you’re going to be successful.
“We put in another good performance.”
