FORMER Latics head coach Harry Kewell has been sacked by Barnet, along with his assistant Paul Butler, after a winless start to the season.
The 42-year-old former Leeds and Liverpool star was appointed in June having previously managed Crawley, Notts County and Oldham.
The Bees are currently second bottom of the National League with two points having lost five and drawn two of their opening seven games.
Barnet's head of football Dean Brennan, who will take charge on a temporary basis, told the club's website: "It was clear how much Harry Kewell wanted to have a positive impact, but ultimately the results and the poor start to the season have dictated our decision.
"The plan for this season was for Barnet FC to be challenging in the top half of the table and that is still very much our aim."
Butler had worked alongside Kewell and Keith Curle at Boundary Park but left the club in the summer to reunite with Kewell at Barnet, with Curle building his own backroom team.
