PLAYMAKER Dylan Bahamboula has been shortlisted for the North West Football Awards 2020 League Two player of the year.
The Latics midfielder had some memorable moments in a largely forgettable season as the club meandered to an 18th placed finish.
Bahamboula caught the eye last season with his fancy footwork, and scored seven goals, including a stunning equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Tranmere Rovers.
And there is another familiar face among the awards nominations, with Alfie McCalmont recognised for his impressive loan spell at Boundary Park.
The midfielder, who scored 10 goals in his season with Latics from Premier League Leeds United, has been shortlisted in the Rising Star of the Season category.
Joel Senior (Altrincham FC), Toby Savin (Accrington Stanley), Dimitri Sea (Barrow), Harvey Elliott (Blackburn Rovers), Jerry Yates (Blackpool), George Thomason (Bolton Wanderers), Lewis Richardson (Burnley), Ben Godfrey (Everton), James Hill (Fleetwood Town),
Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Romeo Lavia (Manchester City), Shola Shoretire (Manchester United), Carlos Mendes Gomes (Morecambe), Sepp van den Berg (Preston), Aaron Morley (Rochdale), Tylor Golden (Salford City), Calum Macdonald (Tranmere Rovers), Kyle Joseph (Wigan).
Bahamboula faces competition from Patrick Brough (Barrow AFC), Ricardo Almeida Santos (Bolton Wanderers), Cole Stockton (Morecambe), Ibou Touray (Salford City) and Peter Clarke (Tranmere Rovers).
Santos was a key player as Bolton won automatic promotion to League One, while Stockton had an impact in securing promotion to League One for the first time in Morecambe's history, via the play-offs.
But Bahamboula caught the eye for Latics, so much so that he spent time on trial with Championship side Middlesbrough in the summer.
