FORMER Latics midfielder Dean Furman has signed for National League side Altrincham.
The 33-year-old made over 130 league appearances for Oldham between 2009 and 2013 and returned to Boundary Park this summer on trial during pre-season.
Furman was a free agent after leaving Carlisle United at the end of last season, but they were unable to agree terms.
He went on to train with Altrincham has been offered a short-term deal.
"It's great to be hear and get the deal signed," said the South African.
"I've had a few different trials and a few different offers over the summer, nothing that really suited me.
"I was offered the opportunity to come down to training and played in a game against Huddersfield and we had a good chat after that and the gaffer's offered me a short-term deal, and hopefully my aim is to make that a much longer deal going forward."
