FORMER Latics loanee Bobby Grant has taken the next step in his career after taking up a player-coach role in non-league.
Grant will be the assistant manager to Lee Fowler at Northern Premier League Premier Division side Radcliffe as well being a member of Boro’s squad.
The 30-year-old, who scored seven goals in 29 appearances for Oldham last season, was a free agent having come to the end of his Wrexham contract.
Grant was in and out of the side under Harry Kewell and then did not feature from March onwards, making just two appearances under Keith Curle.
The versatile forward began his career at Accrington and upon breaking into the first-team he caught the eye with his performances which saw him earn a move to Scunthorpe United. After two-years with the Iron, he signed for Rochdale in 2012.
In his first permanent campaign at Spotland, he scored 16 goals in 38 games in all competitions.
After a move to Blackpool he went onto have a productive loan spell with Shrewsbury Town.
In 2015 Grant joined Fleetwood and became a regular in the three years with the Cod Army before moving onto Wrexham, then having another spell on loan at Accrington.
