Oldham Athletic have joined forces with Rochdale to issue a joint message to supporters ahead of Saturday lunchtime's derby at Spotland.

With more than 2,700 Latics fans due to pack the away end after the club sold out its allocation, Oldham supporters have been advised not to attempt to buy tickets for this fixture in any of the home stands.

Anyone who does risks not being allowed entry to the ground, having their ticket cancelled and losing money.

The kick-off time was brought forward to 12.30pm earlier this year on police advice, for both meetings between the two clubs this season.

The joint statement from Oldham and Rochdale reads: "The allocation of away tickets for the National League fixture between Rochdale and Oldham Athletic on Saturday 23 November 2024 has sold out.

"Oldham supporters are advised not to purchase tickets for this fixture in any of the home stands.

"It is a term of any ticket purchased from Rochdale that the club has the right to cancel a ticket bought by a visiting supporter within the home areas without issuing a refund.

"The two clubs will work in partnership with Greater Manchester Police to implement these terms and ground safety regulations on the day of the fixture.

"Supporters must not purchase tickets in the incorrect stands and any supporters found to have done so will have their ticket cancelled without a refund.

"Supporters are also reminded that the use pyrotechnics and encroachment onto the playing surface are criminal offences at a football match.

"It is illegal to be in possession of a pyrotechnic or to attempt to bring a pyrotechnic device into a stadium. Doing so will result in arrest and a football banning order issued.

"Both clubs want a safe and enjoyable experience for all supporters on Saturday."
