Latics forward Kurt Willoughby has returned to Chester on a season-long loan deal.
Willoughby had a successful spell at the Deva Stadium before heading to Boundary Park, scoring 27 goals in 52 matches.
The 27-year-old joined Latics last summer and went on to make 16 appearances, including five starts.
He also had a stint on loan at Ayr United during the second half of the campaign, finding the back of the net three times for the Scottish outfit.
Chester boss Calum McIntyre told the club website: “I’m sure I speak for everyone at Chester Football Club when I say I am delighted to see Kurt back.
“His record during his time with us was formidable and he has a terrific relationship with our fans. We are really pleased to have got this done.
“It is something we have looked to do for some time but ultimately it has only come to fruition over the last few days. We have spoke at length about being patient with our really targeted recruitment and this is the best example of that."
Chester finished 10th in the National League North last term, six points off the play-off places.
