Oldham Athletic will start and end the new National League season at Boundary Park.

Latics are preparing for their third campaign in the fifth tier, and this season will be the first time they have kicked off a new term at home, having begun previous seasons at Torquay United and Southend United respectively.

Indeed, the first league game of the first three months and last four months of the 2024/25 season will be at Boundary Park.

Newly promoted Braintree Tree are the first visitors of the new campaign, on August 10, for what will be the first meeting between the two clubs.

It is a round trip in excess of 400 miles for the Essex club, who are looking at going full-time since winning promotion via the National League South play-offs.

Angelo Harrop's men will be a relatively unknown quantity with the volume changes that have been made in order to give them the best chance at this level, including the signings of Dagenham’s Inih Effiong, Colchester’s Marley Marshall-Miranda, Eastleigh’s George Langston and York’s Finlay Barnes.

On the road, Latics will travel 7,170 miles in total in the league this season, with the first of those trips on August 17 to Wealdstone, who made certain of their place in the National League with a 3-2 win at Boundary Park on the final day of last term.

Oldham's first midweek match is at home to AFC Fylde the following Tuesday, with summer signing Josh Kay set to go head-to-head against his old club.

Latics' first meeting with rivals Rochdale is not until November 23, at the Crown Oil Arena, with the reverse fixture scheduled for March 15 at home.

Opening day opponents Braintree kick-off the festive period, with Latics making the trip to their Cressing Road Stadium on December 21.

Traditionally, clubs have faced the same opposition in Boxing Day and New Year games. However, after a survey of member clubs, the National League board agreed to change that process, with the Boxing Day and Good Friday games becoming reverse fixtures, along with New Year's Day and Easter Monday games, to avoid teams playing the same opponents so close together.

Latics will host York City on Boxing Day, and travel to the LNER Community Stadium on Good Friday, while a trip to Hartlepool on New Year's Day means Oldham will host the north east club on Easter Monday.

Latics end the season at home to Ebbsfleet United.
