MATTY Crothers has announced that he is leaving Avro FC, writes Rob Currell.

The midfielder made more than 60 appearances for the club after joining from Radcliffe in December 2022.

His experience soon shone through as he went on to play his part in helping the side secure promotion to Step Four football.

The 28-year-old centre midfielder previously played for Curzon Ashton and is leaving the club in preparation of the birth of his first child.

Crothers made a total of 62 appearances for the Ro and scored five goals during his time at the club.

“Avro football club has provided me with some experiences that I will never forget,” said Crothers.

“The play-off final and the squad achieving promotion to our current division was an awesome memory.

“I will miss the group of lads that Frosty and Edgy created.

“I want to thank the club for everything they have done, I wish Avro FC all the best for the future.”

“Matty was one of the biggest signings of the season when we brought him over from Radcliffe,” said a spokesman from the club.

“He won promotion with the side and helped take us to where we are now.

“Best of luck to Matty in his future and we hope to see him around the club from time to time.”
