THE ‘new’ Oldham Rugby League Club, whose front man is managing director and temporary head coach Mike Ford, will play its re-arranged game against Workington Town at a revamped Boundary Park, home of Oldham Athletic FC, on the evening of Wednesday, August 23 with a 7.30pm kick-off.
Roughyeds will play at Boundary Park permanently from next season, but this game is a one-off because there isn’t a suitable Sunday before the end of the season and the Vestacare Stadium, the club’s current home, is not available in mid-week.
Said Ford: “We can’t thank Latics enough. This is another example of the fantastic relationship we have with them. Their facilities are fantastic, we’ll play on a new £1M pitch put in by Oldham Council and it will be an exciting night for the club and the town.”
Oldham, guaranteed a play-off place, are going all out for promotion from Betfred League One, having signed players like Pat Moran, Josh Johnson and Nick Rawsthorne in recent weeks.
