Will Sutton has joined Radcliffe on loan for a month, in what Latics manager David Unsworth has described as "the perfect move at the perfect time" for the young defender.
The 20-year-old, who made his debut for Latics against Bradford in November 2020, has made a total of 12 appearances but has had his first team opportunities limited this season after suffering a long-term injury in the summer.
Sutton had loan spells with Witton Albion last season, making 19 appearances for the club, before joining National League North side Farsley Celtic.
After a series of injuries for Latics the young defender was recalled and scored in his first game back - and his first game of last season - in a 2-1 defeat at Walsall.
Sutton was a regular starter towards the end of last season but was set back by his injury, with Latics having a change of manager during his recovery.
Unsworth has been pleased to have a fully fit Sutton back in the fold for the last couple of months, and feels he will benefit from the chance of regular game time with Northern Premier League Premier Division side Radcliffe.
"It's a great move," said the Latics boss. "The perfect move for him at the perfect time.
"It's a youth loan so he will train with us every day and play on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
"I really like Will. He has got himself fit now and he will be a big player for us in the future."
