On-loan defender James Carragher has returned to Wigan after suffering a knee injury.
Carragher, who is the son of former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher, has played five games for Latics but has not featured since last month's 1-1 draw at Maidenhead, and has reported back to his parent club for treatment.
"He's gone back to Wigan, " said Latics boss David Unsworth of the defender, who turns 20 next week.
"He's probably out for about six to eight weeks with a knee injury, which is disappointing because he was the first player I recruited and I thought he did really well for the first few games he played.
"He's a big miss for us but we'll make the appropriate changes that we feel are necessary. Hopefully it won't be just one or two."
Carragher's initial loan deal was due to expire on January 1, so Latics are hopeful that the youngster will be fit in time to return Boundary Park.
