Latics have completed the signing of Bolton Wanderers youngster Conor Carty on a month-long youth loan.
Carty linked up with the Whites over the summer following his release by Premier League outfit Wolves.
The young forward spent five years at Molineux after he was spotted while playing for Irish club St Patrick’s Athletic.
He made 16 appearances last season as Wolves’ Under-23 side won promotion to the top tier of youth football and is also a Republic of Ireland youth international, having featured at the 2019 Euro Under-17 Championship.
Carty has impressed for Bolton's newly-launched B Team in recent months, already managing to get on the scoresheet several times.
The 20-year-old was on tagret during his first-team debut against Tranmere Rovers in the Papa Johns Trophy last month, finding the bottom corner with an emphatic first-time strike from outside the box.
Latics are currently 18th in the National League table as they aim to bounce back from last season's relegation from League Two.
David Unsworth's side will be hoping to build on Tuesday night's penalty shoot-out win against Chester in the FA Cup fourth round qualifying.
They are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Yeovil Town to Boundary Park (KO 3pm).
Meanwhile, Latics' trip to Boreham Wood will now be played on Tuesday, December 6.
The fixture was due to take place on Tuesday, November 1 but has now been rescheduled for a second time.
Details will be confirmed in due course but tickets purchased for the original date will still be valid.
