OLDHAM Athletic have made Charlie Cooper their 11th summer signing on the eve of the new season, following a successful trial.
The 25-year-old, who was part of the Forest Green Rovers side that won promotion to the Football League in 2017, has signed an initial short-term deal following his departure from Wealdstone this summer.
Cooper, who started his career with Birmingham City and has had spells with York City, Halifax and Woking, will join the rest of the Latics squad as they make the trip to Torquay for the opening day of the 2022/23 National League campaign.
“I’ve been impressed with Charlie's attitude and performances during the games he’s played," said Latics boss Sheridan.
“He's done very well in the games against Wigan and second half at Fylde in particular and gives us good balance in the midfield.
“Charlie is a player with a wealth of experience at this level and he'll provide good competition for the squad as we prepare for Torquay this weekend.”
