DYLAN Bahamboula is expected to sign for Scottish Premiership side Livingston, after joining the club on their pre-season training camp.

The Congo international is available on a free transfer after coming to the end of his two-year contract with Oldham Athletic.

Bahamboula has jetted off to Spain with David Martindale's squad as they prepare for the 2022/23 season.

And he is expected to complete his move north of the border imminently.

Livingston have already signed Phillip Cancar from Western Sydney Wanderers, Esmael Goncalves from Sheikh Russel, Scott Bitsindou from Lierse and Jamie Brandon from Hearts.

Bahamboula is set to be added that list, and the 27-year-old is expected to become Livi's fifth and final permanent addition this summer.

"Dylan has qualities which will enhance the squad," said Martindale.

"That deal will go through shortly and that will be that as far as new faces coming in as we have done our business for the summer."

Bahamboula was an unknown when he arrived at Boundary Park in October 2020, under then head coach Harry Kewell.

There were some stand-out moments for the mercurial midfielder, notably a wonder goal to secure a 2-2 draw at Tranmere in February 2021.

He scored seven in total in his first season from 43 appearances in all competitions.

He made an instant impact in his second season with back-to-back goals against Tranmere in the League Cup and at Bradford City in the first away game, having missed the opening game of the campaign with covid.

But having impressed in a season behind closed doors, fans never got to see the best of him once they were able to return and Bahamboula was in and out of the side after John Sheridan returned as head coach.
