A Christmas tree lighting up event on Saturday brought festive cheer to a Saddleworth village.
Greenfield's tree has grown into a magnificent specimen and looks stunning with its many coloured lights and shining star, says resident Steph Pelmore.
Frank Rothwell had intended to perform the countdown but was called away to support his football team - Latics - who were playing in London that day. His place was taken by local cllr Helen Bishop who organisers said did a sterling job.
A spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, the mince pies ran out afterwards but we have been assured by Tesco Community Champion Greg Barratt, that our order will be doubled for next time!
"As always, thanks to Greenfield Band, Linda at Boarshurst Band Club for use of the club afterwards, and Oldham Mountain Rescue who acted as marshalls.
"Plus, thanks to all who helped behind the scenes to make this annual event possible."
