Lager, pints and bottled beer

Corona and Budweiser bottles are on the cheaper end in Oldham at £3.32, though shares this price across most of Greater Manchester, excluding the Trafford Centre and Manchester Picadilly, where a bottle of Bud is up to £4.65 or £4.44 for a Corona.

You'd have to travel up to Dumfries for a bargain bottle of £2.88, or expect to cough up £5.65 in Birmingham or £5.70 at London's Stansted Airport.

In pint form, Budweiser is £2.99 in Oldham compared to £5.99 in Birmingham.

As for Guinness, it's only £3.32 in Oldham - but in Rochdale, it's cheapest across the region at £2.58 while spots in Salford sell a pint for £3.09.

You'll need more than a fiver for a Guinness in Birmingham (£5.99), Stansted Airport (£6.30) and London's Westminster (£6.47).

Asahi is £4.11 in Oldham and 11p cheaper in Middleton, but is more expensive in Bolton at £4.21.

The cheapest Asahi is in Eccles (£4.06) and the most expensive, again, is the Trafford Centre (£5.18).

You'd have to go to Sheffield for a bargain Asahi of £3.88 or Oswestry to pay just £3.77.

As for a pint of Carling, Rochdale again wins as the cheapest, charging £2.45 compared to Oldham's £2.79, Bolton's £2.95 and Manchester charging up to £4.29.

However, the nearest cheapest Carling is in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, at £2.29.

Oldham isn't the cheapest for a Greene King Abbott Ale either, charging £2.77 compared to Urmston and Eccles, where it's £2.34.

Still, Greene King breaches the £3 mark in Manchester city centre (£3.32) and the £5 mark in St Pancras Station in London and Westminster.

For the cheapest bottled cider, you'll have to go north to Dumfries again to pay £2.88, and avoid Birmingham and London if you don't want to pay more than £5.50.

Wine

On the wine list, Bolla Pinot Grigio (by the bottle) is the cheapest in Oldham, Bury, Rochdale, Wigan, Altrincham, Salford, Tameside and Stockport, coming in at just £10.44 compared to Manchester city centre, where wine lovers are paying £2.23 more (£12.67).

However, it creeps up even further to £13.11in the Trafford Centre pub - which is the same price as Cambridge.

Red wine-wise, a bottle of Zana Pinot Noir is the same across the Greater Manchester patch (£10.44 in Oldham to £13.11 in the Trafford Centre), though jumps up more than double to £23.40 at the NEC in Birmingham.

Oldham again sells the cheapest Villa Maria Blush Savingon at £14.23, compared to Manchester city centre which charges £15.34 and the Trafford Centre pub charging £15.78.

Vodka

Oldham actually doesn't fare so well when it comes to Absolut or Smirnoff vodka, charging £4.21 for a single shot.

It's still cheaper than Manchester city centre's Wetherspoons pubs with The Seven Stars on Dantzic Street costing £5.39 and the Trafford Centre's premises asking for £5.51.

For the cheapest vodka shot, you'd have to trek all the way to the Isle of Sheppy to get to Sheerness' The Belle and Lion, which charges a mere £2.84.

Or, comparatively nearer to Oldham, a shot at The Blue Bell Inn in Scunthorpe costs just £3.28 or even closer in Doncaster, you can pay £3.45 at The Red Lion.

Gin

Gin lovers are hitting a bit of a postcode lottery when it comes to buying a G&T in Wetherspoons pubs in Greater Manchester.

A single shot of Gordon's gin costs £3.73 in Oldham, Bolton, Tameside and Bury, but is more than £1 cheaper (£2.06) in other areas across the region.

You'd spend less than a tenner on four gin shots on a Weatherspoon's pub crawl in Rochdale, Chorlton, Urmston and Ecccles, compared to almost £15 in Oldham.

Still, the most expensive G&T goes to the Trafford Centre (£5.55 for a single shot of Gordon's) and Manchester's Piccadilly pub (£4.56).

Rum

Taking Barcardi as an example, rum fans pay £4.40 for a shot in an Oldham Wetherspoons pub.

Again, this isn't the best price compared to other places in Greater Manchester.

Head to Walkden for the cheapest rum shot (£4.11) or cough up between £5.55 to £5.62 in Manchester city centre and The Trafford Centre.

For a good deal on a Barcardi beverage, Glossop's The Smithy Fold charges just £4.06 or, if you're willing to trek to Leeds or Sheffield, it's around £3.55.

Whisky

A shot of Bell's Whisky is a mere £1.02 in Rochdale, Urmston, Eccles and Chorlton, but shoots up to £1.77 in Oldham, Bolton, Bury and Tameside.

The most expensive again is Manchester city centre (£2.34), though in Birmingham, it's more than five times as much compared to Rochdale, costing £6.45.

Shots

Getting the party started with a shot can put you back as high as £6.80 in some areas of the country.

However, in Oldham, a Sambucca (£2.55) or tequila (£3.32) is on the relatively low end, particularly compared to the £3.32--£4.56 range as seen in the city centre and Trafford Centre.

The most expensive Sambucca shot nearest to Greater Manchester is on the Blackpool promenade at £4.11, and the cheapest is all the way up in Dumfries, at £2.06.

Unsurprisingly, Sambucca shots surpass the £5 mark in London's O2 arena (Greenwich) at £5.16 and the most expensive shot in the country can be found in The Moon Under Water Wetherspoons in Leicester Square, Westminster, at £5.68.

A single shot of tequila also costs more than £5 in the capital compared to less than £3 (£2.88) in Dumfries.

It's a similar story for SOURZ shots, which is £2.45 in Oldham and across most Greater Manchester pubs, aside from the Trafford Centre and Manchester city centre where you're looking more towards the £3 mark.

Bottles

Smirnoff Ice costs around £2.55 across Greater Manchester, other than the same Trafford Centre and city centre Spoons where it's around £3.45.

In Dumfries, it's almost 50p cheaper at £2.06, but in Birmingham and London, you're looking at more than double for the same bottle at £5.68.

Woo Woo

Wetherspoons is famous for its ginormous pitchers of alcohol, but where would you get the best bang for your buck for a Woo Woo?

In Greater Manchester, the Woo Woo crown goes to Eccles' Regent Street and Chorlton's The Sedge Lynn, where it costs less than a tenner at £8.62.

In Oldham, it's £11.18 for the mighty jug - which is even more expensive than Middleton, Stockport, Sale, Bolton and Bury.

Still, it's a whopping £14.08 in The Trafford Centre - the most expensive Woo Woo you'll find across Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Nottingham, Blackpool and Leeds.

In Cambridge, your Woo Woo costs £14.97 and in Westminster, it's £18.10.

Cocktails

Oldham Wetherspoons is home to one of the cheapest Espresso Martini cocktails, costing just £3.99, as is most of Greater Manchester boroughs.

The city centre charges £4.49 - and the most expensive at £9.99 is in most UK airports, including London, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Baileys

Christmas isn't complete without Bailey's and in Oldham, a shot of the stuff costs £3.94.

Baileys breaches the £5 mark in the Trafford Centre (£5.40) and almost in Manchester city centre, at £4.99.

Again, the cheapest Baileys is in Dumfries (£3.45) and the most expensive over in Cambridge, £5.37 and £7.49 in Westminster.
