A teenager who caused serious injury to a woman by driving carelessly in a pub car park has been sentenced.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Tameside Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 19, where he pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
The court heard that on April 27 this year, the teenager, from Saddleworth, was driving a car in the car park of The Printers pub on Oldham Road, Denshaw.

This was despite the fact the teenager was not legally allowed to drive as he did not have a valid driving licence or insurance.
The teen caused serious injury to a woman as he drove without due care and attention in the car park.

He was handed a youth referral order lasting six months, meaning he must attend meetings with officers.
The teen was also disqualified from driving for 12 months and £250 in compensation must be paid to the victim who he injured.
