Pupils from a school in Oldham have been inspired to read more after a visit to the library.
The Year 4 pupils at St Joseph's Primary School recently visited Crompton Library to foster a love for books and reading.
The library staff gave the children a warm welcome and organised various activities for them.
These included a story time session, a guided tour of the library, and a book hunt.
The children also learned about the library's different sections, the Dewey Decimal System, and the importance of library etiquette.
There was also time for some quiet reading at the library, and the children were allowed to choose books to take home.
A feedback session was held at the end of the visit, where the pupils shared their favourite moments and new knowledge.
Steve Hill, the class teacher, said: "The visit to Crompton Library has been an invaluable experience for our children.
"It has sparked their interest in reading and provided them with a broader understanding of how a library works."
The visit was deemed a success and aimed to instil a lasting appreciation for books in the young minds.
The school thanked the library staff for arranging the visit.
