An Oldham charity has been recognised with a King's Award for Voluntary Service for their work with Black, Asian and minority ethnic young people.
Yuvanis Foundation said it was "overjoyed" to share the news that they had won the prestigious award.
The award is the highest accolade a local voluntary group can receive and is compared to an MBE.
The grassroots charity works with individuals and families from the BAME community in Oldham and Greater Manchester and tries to improve their lives through a wide range of activities, including youth centres, well-being programmes and community health initiatives.
The foundation "strives to break barriers and empower the community" and says that receiving the award is "an incredible honour" recognising the hard work, passion and dedication of its volunteers and team.
One of the foundation’s trustees, Sadique Hussain, said: “We are absolutely delighted and humbled by this recognition, which inspires us to continue creating meaningful change and making a lasting impact in our community.
"This award is a celebration of everyone who has been part of our journey.”
For more than a decade, the foundation has been at the heart of Oldham, engaging with and empowering people through impactful programs that focus on physical health, mental well-being, personal development, and social cohesion.
From weekly youth sports schemes and well-being hubs to workshops and cultural activities, the organisation has created safe, inclusive spaces for individuals of all ages.
The foundation aims to build bridges, inspire change, and empower individuals to lead healthier, more connected lives.
CEO Zakir Ahmad said: "We are immensely grateful for this honour, which acknowledges the countless hours our volunteers dedicate to supporting, uplifting, and empowering our community.
"I’m extremely proud to be leading this wonderful team.
"At Yuvanis Foundation, our journey continues with even more determination, inspired by the belief that together, we can shape a brighter future for everyone."
Taslima Ahmad, one of the coordinators, added: “Our team of dedicated volunteers work tirelessly year-round to meet the needs of our community.
"I’m incredibly fortunate to be part of such a passionate and hardworking team, supported by an amazing community that believes in and uplifts our mission.
"Receiving The King’s Award is not only a celebration of this collective effort but also a powerful testament to the impact of our hard work.”
