A chef who has inspired many tasty creations at a popular ice cream parlour in Saddleworth for the past two decades is behind a new "dark kitchen" takeaway and delivery service.
Grandpa Greene's has soared in popularity for its sweet treats and homemade ice cream that Grandpa Greene himself created in the 1920s in the backyard of his corner shop in Salford.
The parlour came to Saddleworth with its cosy canal-side cafe off Ward Lane in Diggle before opening another bistro over on Wade Row in Uppermill in June last year.

Customers have adored the award-winning parlour ever since for its expansive menu and dining experiences, from dining in its "igloo village" to luxury afternoon tea settings.
Breakfast, brunch, burgers, pancakes, waffles, brownies, super sundaes and, of course, ice cream in a variety of flavours are in abundance at the sites, as well as tea, coffee, hot chocolate, iced coffee and alcohol and cocktails at its bistro site.
Grandpa Greene's also creates trendy seasonal dishes and drinks, whether that's festive teas and "bread bowls" in the winter or the famous Easter egg hot chocolate and Mini egg pancake stack in the spring.
Now, the team have launched another venture, this time inspired by its chef of more than 20 years, with a takeout and delivery option directly from the original Grandpa Greene's kitchen in Diggle.
Announcing Leo's Saddleworth, the team said Leo's is a "dark kitchen, serving up amazing dishes and desserts", from burgers, loaded fries, pizza and pasta to Grandpa Greene's "infamous" desserts and luxury shakes.
A post announcing the takeaway added: "A takeout takeover from our original Grandpa Greenes Kitchen with chef Leo of over 20 years’ experience joining us to create chef-crafted goodness delivered fresh straight to your doorstep."
A sneak peek preview of the menu shows Leo's will be serving up "dirty" mac and cheese, classic stone pizzas such as Margherita, pepperoni and barbecue chicken and "smoky blue" and "glorious pig" stacked burgers among others - and even a vegan cheeseburger.
Customers are also spoilt for choice for chicken tenders with a variety of seasoning options like garlic parmesan and siracha.
As for the dessert menu, Leo's offers pancake stacks, ice cream sundae bowls, brownies and ice cream milkshakes in classic flavours and Lotus Biscoff and cookies and cream.
Leo's is available for takeout every Friday and Saturday from 4pm until 9pom with delivery exclusively with Deliveroo.
