We asked our readers to send us their photos of Oldham in the snow and created a list of 20 of our favourites.

With the Met Office placing a yellow weather warning over Oldham for snow and ice, the borough woke up to a stunning snowy landscape.

From the inner areas of Oldham with a reasonable dusting of snow right through to the more rural areas which saw a fair bit of it land overnight, here are some of our favourite pictures.

The sleet turned to snow yesterday evening as we all cosied up and prepared for a cold night ahead.

But waking up this morning to a winter wonderland outside our doors has got us all in the Christmas spirit.

We loved seeing pictures of the pets from Oldham as they enjoyed the frozen area.

We really like How this picture shows off the countryside in Oldham and it's always a bonus when there's a dog included.

This looks like a scene from NarniaThis looks like a scene from Narnia (Image: Patricia Whiteley) Sometimes it's easy to forget what a stunning landscape we have on our doorstep, and pictures like this one remind us of that.

Patricia's image of the River Tame with a rather confusing sign for directions looks more like something out of a fantasy novel than our own borough.

Dave sent us two images while on his bike ride today, and wow are they stunningDave sent us two images while on his bike ride today, and wow are they stunning (Image: Dave James) The yellow weather warning meant that everyone had been well prepared for the icy day, and it seems to have worked, as we received no reports of disruption caused by snow around Oldham.

Thank you to all of our readers who sent in their images, and we're sorry we couldn't include all of them in as they were truly stunning.
