An 83-year-old woman has been left in a life-threatening condition following a crash on Ashton Road in Oldham.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that just after 9pm on Sunday, October 27, a Toyota Prius was travelling northbound on Ashton Road towards Oldham when it crashed into the woman who was in the road.

At the time, the woman was believed to have only sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

However, GMP have shared that she is now in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the Toyota Prius remained at the scene and has assisted with police enquiries.

GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Police also want to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
