Oldham's Christmas lights switch-on event at the weekend proved to be a hit, with families left "amazed" as they enjoyed a spectacular firework display.
On Saturday, the Christmas lights throughout Oldham town centre officially lit up the evening.
And to celebrate, the council held a fun-filled event, with family entertainment held throughout the day followed by a fantastic show on the main stage.
The show involved many well-known faces, including the cast of the upcoming Oldham pantomime, Oldham Roughyeds, Oldham boxer Aqib Fiaz and children's Tv character Bluey.
From the people involved in the show, the entertainers ruining activities throughout the day and right down to the security staff, the event was a success all around.
Security staff handed out free glow sticks to the children attending to wave during the show while awaiting the big switch-on moment.
Even the main man Santa graced the Oldham stage and told children to keep up the good behaviour before the big day.
The lights were switched on at 6pm after a Christmas song singalong got everyone into the festive mood.
After the tree and lights were lit up, a spectacular firework show filled the sky.
Raz attended the event with her two children, who were sporting light up accessories and making the most of the evening.
She said: "It's been absolutely amazing.
"I'm actually from Rochdale, and I'm so blown away by how amazing this event has been."
The Higgins family also attended the event, and wrapped up warm to enjoy the celebrations.
Mayor of Oldham, Cllr Zahid Chauhan, said at the event: "Thank you all for joining us today, this is just the start of the show.
"It's such a pleasure to welcome you all here today, and remember that this brings all of us together, our champions, our heroes, all of you.
"Let's not forget, these lights are for your friends, your family and your community."
