A team of volunteers have been praised for organising a specially-constructed “Brew Station” for crowds who made the annual pilgrimage to the Remembrance Sunday service at the iconic Pots and Pans monument in Greenfield.
Farming estate Upperwood worked with the Royal British Legion team, headed by Alison Clowes, to raise £466.51 for the Poppy Appeal from the sale of hot drinks and chocolates.
The refreshments were donated by businesses and through personal gifts.
The "Brew Station" was lifted to the moorland site by owners and employees of the Upperwood Estate who gave up their time to support the event.
And the organisers are planning a better event for next year in their mission to support Poppy Appeal.
