Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were called into action on Sunday after a woman suffered an injury near Black Moss Reservoir.
Not longer after attending the war memorial for the Remembrance Sunday service at Pots and Pans above Greenfield, the team received a call from North West Ambulance Service about the incident, which happened on Pennine Way.
Team members were deployed in vehicles and arrived quickly before the casualty was assessed by one the medics.
The rest of the walking party were escorted to one of the vehicles to be warmed up.
The injury meant the woman had to be stretchered the short distance to the vehicle and then driven back to the main road where she could be transferred to a waiting ambulance.
Eighteen team members were involved in the incident for two hours.
