According to an application report prepared by a council planning officer, the hotel will support local business by creating employment opportunities through an existing property.

The officer added the hotel would not have a negative impact on the surrounding area as it is largely commercial and no external alterations are set to be carried out.

The proposal was recommended for approval and was formally given the green light on Wednesday (November 6).
