A man received an injury to his face from a knife following an incident in Oldham last night (October 28).

On Monday evening, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) attended the scene on Manchester Road, Oldham after 8pm.

A man was assaulted with a knife, which left him with a large laceration to his face, however he is not believed to have suffered any life-changing or life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made by GMP so far, however it is being treated as a section 18 assault, known as assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

North West Ambulance Service said they responded to an incident at 8.19pm and that the man was taken to hospital for further treatment.

North West Air Ambulance said they did not attend the incident.
