A woman was helped by mountain rescue after dislocating her knee in Saddleworth.

There were 11 members of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team involved for one and a half hours on Wednesday afternoon after they were contacted by North West Ambulance Service to assist with the woman in a field near Lydgate, Saddleworth.

Team members and a team vehicle were deployed to the incident.

Paramedics were already on scene administering pain relief when they arrived.

The woman was immobilised using one of the team's vacuum splints before she was carried across the field on a stretcher to the ambulance.
