Greater Manchester Police have launched an appeal after a man was left with serious injuries after an alleged attack which is said to have taken place after a crash.

Police responded to reports of a crash involving two vehicles on Denton Lane on Tuesday, October 22 at around 11:35pm.

One man received serious injuries during the incident and a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

Police have since made a third arrest of another 22-year-old man on suspicion of assault, in connection with their investigation. 

Scenes on Denton Lane, Lansdowne Court, and Apfel Lane active for much of the day on Wednesday, October 23 as officers carried out their initial enquiries.

Detectives investigating the incident are now asking for help with any information so that they can continue their work on the investigation.

Detective Inspector Clare Harrison, from GMP’s Oldham district, said: “We are working to build a full understanding of the incident and seek support from the community in doing this.

"A man has been left with serious injuries and we are investigating all lines of enquiries to establish the full facts in this targeted incident.
