An Oldham high school has received two prestigious awards for promoting pupils' health and wellbeing through sustainable travel.
Saddleworth School said it is 'absolutely thrilled' to have received the awards from Modeshift STARS.
The STARS School Travel Awards celebrate schools which are growing levels of walking, wheeling and other forms of sustainable and active travel within their school community.
The school won the award for the region and will now go on to the national finals in London in March next year.
The school's regional win follows them having been awarded accreditation from Modeshift STARS for their work.
The school said in a post to X (formerly twitter): "We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have have won two prestigious STARS School Travel Awards!
"This incredible achievement follows the success in earning Modeshift STARS accreditation for outstanding efforts for active travel."
Oldham Council leader, Councillor Arooj Shah, said: "We’re thrilled to hear that Saddleworth School has been recognised with not one, but two Modeshift STARS School Travel Awards.
"This achievement highlights the school’s outstanding commitment to promoting healthier and more sustainable travel options.
"By encouraging walking, cycling and other forms of active travel, they’re not only helping pupils stay healthy, but also reducing traffic and improving the environment around the school.
"We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. Well done to everyone involved!

Modeshift STARS works to deliver effective travel plans in education, business and community settings.
Accreditation from the organisation is awarded to schools, businesses and community settings who 'go above and beyond' to develop, implement and monitor sustainable travel.
The schemes are set up in the aim to reduce the number of single occupancy vehicles traveling to and from the sites.
