Engineers are currently attending to an 'unexpected incident' in Shaw today which has left almost 50 homes without power.
According to Electricity North West, 47 properties in Shaw and Crompton are currently suffering a loss of power as of 8.26am this morning (Friday, October 18).
The power cut has been caused by an "unexpected incident" with an underground cable that provides electricity to homes and businesses.

Electricity North West said it "didn't know" the incident was going to happen but has issued assurance that it is working to get the power back on "safely and as quickly as possible".
The post codes affected are OL2 7UX, OL2 7UT, OL2 7XE, OL2 7XD and OL2 7YN.
Engineers predict the power will be restored by 2.26pm this afternoon.
The incident comes as several homes across Chadderton, Royton and Saddleworth can expect a planned power cut on Tuesday (October 22) and Friday (October 25) next week.
