An Oldham man who caused £2,000 worth of damage to glass doors at Manchester Airport has been sentenced.

Wasim Khan, of Allama Iqbal Road, Oldham, was at the airport on August 5 when he caused damage to a set of glass sliding doors. 

The damage was £2,000 in total, with the 24-year-old said to have acted in a reckless manner.

Just days earlier, on July 31, Khan was in Oldham when he sent an indecent electronic communication.

Khan pleaded guilty to criminal damage and sending by public communication network an offensive/indecent/obscene/menacing message and was sentenced at Stockport Magistrates' Court on October 1.

He was ordered to pay £2,000 in compensation for the damage to the glass doors as well as a £20 fine.

Khan must also attend 24 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.
