Almost 100 properties will be affected by a power cut later this week due to improvement works.
The planned power cut is being carried out by Electricity North West to ensure the safety of engineers working on the power supply.
On their power cut information page, the company said: "We appreciate your patience while our engineers carry out a planned power cut in your area, this is to improve the reliability of your electricity supply and so our engineers can safely work on the cables that provide electricity to your home or business."
The company released information for residents to stay safe and prepared during the outage, saying that people should stay safe distance away from any electrical equipment and cables to avoid accidents, injuries and even fatalities.
Electricity North West do not suggest having to use the food in your fridge and freezer and instead say that chilled and frozen food should last several hours if the door remains closed.
Their will be a total of 99 properties affected in the Medlock Vale area of Oldham.
The postcodes affected are OL8 2RS, OL8 2TH, OL8 2RT, OL8 2RW, OL8 2RJ, OL8 2TB, OL8 2RR, OL8 2TL, OL8 2RG, OL8 3HW.
