A decision is set to be made on plans to build a new Lidl supermarket in Oldham.
Next week, Oldham Council's planning committee will meet and decide on the proposal to develop the new supermarket in Hollinwood, adjacent to the M60.
The plans show that the supermarket would be developed on a vacant site on Albert Street, next to an existing Costa drive-thru cafe, near Junction 22.
If approved, the supermarket would be the third Lidl store in the borough, with existing stores in Chadderton and Royton.
The committee has been recommended to approve the plans, which are deemed to be acceptable by a planning officer.
According to an application report prepared by the planning officer, the single-storey structure would be acceptable in nature due to it being in an area with other commercial buildings.

The 0.7 hectare site is a previously developed site, which is mostly made up of unmaintained grassland.
In total, the store would be 1,983 meters squared with 111 parking spaces, including six disabled bays and 10 parent and child spaces.
In a planning and retail statement prepared by Rapleys on behalf of Lidl, the new store would "improve customer choice and enhance the shopping experience for shoppers in Hollinwood and the neighbouring areas".

The statement also says the "new and modern" discount store would have a "clean and contemporary design" which would "complement the visual character of the surrounding area" while providing a "positive economic impact".
This would include the fact that a typical Lidl store provides around 40 full-time jobs, according to the statement.
The planning committee will make their decision on the proposed Lidl on Wednesday, October 16.
