Chadderton is one of eight areas included in flood warnings issued by the Environment Agency today, Wednesday.

The eight areas are along the River Irk which flows from the borough through to the River Irwell in the city centre.

Chadderton, in particular Chadderton Fold, Cragg Road and Street Bridge Road, is included in the flood warnings issued by the Environment Agency.

The wet weather is forecast for the rest of the day and until midnight according to the forecast from the Met Office.

The Environment Agency said: "Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Irk with low lying land to be most affected particularly around properties adjacent to the River Irk."

The eight areas are all along the River Irk:

River Irk at Cheetham Hill
River Irk at Crumpsall Hospital
River Irk at Kendall Road
River Irk at Little Green
River Irk at New Bridge
River Irk at Rhodes and Middleton
River Irk at Vale Park Industrial Estate
