A grandmother who took part in violent disorder alongside her daughter, who was pushing her young child in a pram, has been sentenced.
Vanessa Smith, of Farnborough Road, Manchester, appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday (September 26) having previously pleaded guilty to violent disorder.
The 42-year-old was sentenced just days after her daughter, Nevey Smith, was spared jail for the same offence.

The court heard during the sentencing of Nevey Smith that the mother and daughter were going to latter's grandmother's when they saw a large group of people gathered on Oldham Road, Newton Heath, on July 31.
The crowd was outside the Holiday Inn hotel, where asylum seekers were being housed, with the disorder seeing racist abuse shouted and missiles thrown.

Both Vanessa and Nevey Smith recognised some people taking part in the disorder and became involved.
Judge Patrick Field KC handed Vanessa Smith an 18-month community order, requiring her to attend 15 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.
She was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
This sentence was similar to that of her daughter who was also handed a community order and made to do 100 hours of unpaid work.
