A person was rescued from a field near Middleton with the help of an air ambulance helicopter and Oldham Mountain Rescue Team (OMRT) on Thursday.
North West Ambulance Service contacted OMRT in the afternoon to ask for support to extricate the patient.
Team members were sent to the incident where paramedics were already present.
The patient was put onto a stretcher and carried a short distance to an ambulance before receiving treatment.
Ten OMRT team members were involved in the incident for three hours.
