An Oldham school has opened a new gym for its students and staff to enjoy.

E-ACT The Oldham North Academy opened the gym on September 18 to coincide with National Fitness Day.

The gym, named TOAN Up! after the academy’s nickname, is set to 'transform' the academy’s PE curriculum and co-curricular offer, as well as' supporting wellbeing initiatives for both students and staff'.

The gym has been created from an unused dance studio space and features a range of 'top-quality' equipment designed to support a variety of fitness activities, from cardio workouts to strength training.

"Our state-of-the-art gym will not only support our PE provision but also enhance our co-curricular activities and overall wellbeing offer.

"By providing access to this incredible facility, we aim to help our students and staff adopt healthier lifestyles, improve their fitness levels, and strengthen their mental resilience."

The gym will be open from 6am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, providing access for students and staff to prioritise their physical and mental wellbeing.

The newly opened gym will play an important role in improving the school’s PE curriculum and co-curricular programs, offering students new opportunities to 'stay active and build lifelong fitness habits'.
