A cafe and restaurant in Saddleworth will be able to extend its opening hours following a decision from Oldham Council's planning committee.
The Grandpa Greene's restaurant at the King George V Playing Fields on Wade Row, Uppermill, opened in June last year after a planning application, which divided local opinion, was approved.
The restaurant, called Green's Bistro and Parlour, was developed where former public toilets were based and has served customers for more than a year now.
On Wednesday (September 18), the council's planning committee met to decide on a proposal to extend the opening hours on certain days.
Previously, the restaurant was allowed to open between the hours of 9am and 7pm each day of the week, including Bank Holidays, although the doors are currently open between 9.30am and 5pm on weekdays and 9.30am to 5.30pm on weekends.
However, the restaurant applied to continue to be open between 9am and 7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but looked to operate from 9am to 9.30pm from Thursday to Sunday in order to take advantage of evening trade.

An application report prepared by an Oldham Council planning officer recommended the planning committee to approve the application, which it did unanimously.
The report stated no formal noise complaints have ever been made to the council's environmental health department since Greene's Bistro opened.
Several comments from residents were left on the application, which objected to the newly proposed opening hours largely on the basis of increased noise.
However, the report said although there may be some increase in noise, "it would not be dissimilar to activity that already exists in Uppermill especially during the night-time economy".
One condition of approval is that no deliveries can be made to the restaurant before 8am or after 9pm from Monday to Saturday, with no deliveries permitted whatsoever on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Many people objected to the original plans to develop the restaurant due to concerns including a loss of space, parking, noise and litter.
