An Oldham pub has announced it will only be accepting passports as a valid form of ID for those who look under 21 due to "the amount of fake IDs" it is seeing.

The Anglers Arms on Wrigley Head, Failsworth, made the announcement on social media over the weekend that only passports will be accepted moving forward.

In the post on Facebook, the pub wrote: "Unfortunately due to the amount of fake IDs we are seeing and the quality of the fake IDs making it impossible for our door staff to tell, we have no other choice to revert back to passport only as a form of ID to get in the pub."

It means those who look under the age of 21 can only get in with a passport.

This is not the first time the pub has brought in this measure, having done the same back in March 2022, which was also due to the prevalence of fake IDs.

Later that same year, the Anglers Arms brought in a temporary measure of all customers having to be aged 21 or above in order to enter the pub due to "events" at the time.
