Oldham's high streets are set for a 'revitalising' boost with free and tailored support from a business growth hub.
GM Business Growth Hub has launched specialist support for the borough's high streets with a free package that it claims will "revitalise" the region's industry and support the diverse needs of its businesses.
The launch of the support comes as a PWC report reveals 38 shops close every day across the UK.

However, the report does show some signs of hope for certain areas.
The tailored support in Oldham is already available for businesses that have more than six full-time employees.
The package is being led by retail specialist and Hub advisor, Omar Mulla, who has previously founded several retail and e-commerce businesses.
Omar hopes to offer a "unique opportunity for retailers" to gain insights and strategies to tackle some of the most pressing issues in the current climate.
Omar said: "I’ve worked in retail and e-commerce since I was in my teens, so I’m really excited to be bringing this support to Oldham businesses.
"We’ve spent time with business owners from across the region to make sure it’s exactly what they need.
“There is hope.
"Some areas, like value retailers and small shops, have shown clear signs of growth.
"And with this support, we can help put all our high streets in the best position possible.”
Yvonne Sampson, head of enterprise at GM Business Growth Hub, added: "High streets are the beating heart of communities, but people often forget about the small business owners that keep them going.
"This report shows that more attention and support needs to be given to them.
“That’s why we’ve built this support through feedback from retailers, so we know that it’s needed and will really make a difference in our local communities."
An event designed to support businesses in the retail sector will be held on October 10 in Rochdale with guest speakers and advice.
