A new gift card has been launched for shoppers and businesses in Oldham in a bid to promote shopping local.

More than 45 shops, restaurants, cafes and salons in the town centre, including at Tommyfield Market and Spindles shopping centre, are now accepting the new card which works like a regular gift card but can only be spent with Oldham businesses.

The initiative has been launched to encourage shopping local and lock spending in the town.

"Every time you spend an Oldham Gift Card, it can be a different experience.
