Newman RC College has congratulated the success of students after GCSE results day saw 'amazing' grades.
The Chadderton school said the results 'continue to build on improvement' with students.
One of the top achievers, Zilang Su, achieved no grades below 8 in the 11 subjects he sat, and 9s in all but two subjects.
Zilang said: "Newman College has been an incredible stepping stone for my life. I owe it to the exceptionally kind teachers.
"I'm pretty happy with my results and there's nothing necessarily bad about them, I think getting an 8 in two subjects is the only unfortunate part."
Zunaira Kayani also did well in her results and achieved nine GCSEs with no grades below an 8.
She said: "I'm really happy overall, I did better than I expected in quite a few subjects.
"I'm the most happy about history though because I worked so hard for it throughout the year and I ended up with a 9 which I'm really happy about.
"Also English literature, I didn't expect a 9 in it at all but I got it, and maths I thought I'd have got a seven but I got an 8 so I'm really happy."
Peggy Andrews is one of Newman's top achievers for progress and before opening her grades, she said that she was hoping she did good and had been hinted that she had.
She said after opening her results: "I did really good.
"I've got a 6 in maths, 9 in English literature, 9 in history, 8 in French and a 7/7 in combined science.
"I did so good and I'm so happy with it."
She's going on to study applied science and said: "My biggest goal in life is to be the best I can be in all of my subjects and in my future career.
"Hopefully I can now become a radiologist and change the world."
