North Chadderton School is celebrating significant improvements in its top GCSE grades after students received their scores today (Thursday, August 22).

Students visited the school on Chadderton Hall Road this morning to open up envelopes with their scores with family and staff in attendance as well.

For many, it was a morning of celebration as they achieved great scores which will allow them to pursue their ambitions at the next level.

Essa Chudhary was a standout student, achieving three Grade 9s and five Grade 8s, much to his and his family's delight.

Friends Eshaan Ahmed and Ibrahim Hussain opened their envelopes together, with the former achieving one Grade 9 and three Grade 8s while the latter gained two Grade 9s and four Grade 8s.

Ibrahim said he is looking to study maths, chemistry and physics at A-level.

Another pair of friends to share the moment together were Emily Pollitt and Millie Carss.

Emily achieved two Grade 9s and four Grade 8s and is looking to study English at A-level, while pal Millie gained two Grade 9s and one Grade 8 as she looks forward to studying history.

Ben Tilston achieved two Grade 9s and six Grade 8s, while Jake Wilkinson achieved three Grade 8s and three Grade 7s as he looks to study chemistry at A-level.

Nick Angus and Nikola Westhead, co-headteachers at North Chadderton, said: "These results are a true reflection of our students' dedication and hard work. The class of 2024 has exceeded our expectations, embodying our school's values of 'Work Hard, Be Kind, Make a Difference'.

"These results demonstrate the importance of these values in shaping well-rounded individuals prepared to positively influence both their local communities and the wider world around them."

North Chadderton saw particularly strong performances across its English Baccalaureate qualifications, especially in English, history, and languages, with English seeing significant improvements in the top grades.

The school said 25 per cent of all students secured a Grade 7 or above in English, while maths saw significant improvements as well.
