An Oldham secondary school has said more of its students than ever have left with the qualifications they need to take their next step after GCSE results were published today (Thursday, August 22).
Oasis Academy Leesbrook, on Roxbury Avenue in Lees, welcomed their cohort of Year 11 students one final time today as they collected their results following their hard work.
Now, the school has said it is "delighted" after many students achieved what they needed to pursue further education or a career.
Amongst the students to achieve high marks were Noar and Lambert, who will both be attending Blue Coat Sixth Form next year.
Noar, who achieved 9,8,8,8,7, said: “I am excited to be going to Blue Coat Sixth Form next year to study physics and chemistry. When I first opened my results, I was shocked however I could not be prouder or happier with them.”
Meanwhile, Lambert, who scored 8,7,7,7,7,6, said: “I put my heart into achieving my results, I feel incredibly grateful for what I have achieved. I am going to Blue Coat Sixth Form next year and I could not be more excited.”
Andrea Mitchell, Principal at Oasis Academy Leesbrook said: “We are delighted for our young people who have worked so hard for these results.
"Here at Oasis Academy Leesbrook, we are committed to providing our students with the opportunities they need to be successful.
“This year we are delighted to report more of our students than ever are leaving us with the qualifications they need to take the next step towards a fulfilling career.”

Reema Akhtar, head of Year 11 At Oasis Academy Leesbrook added: “I would like to wish them the best of luck for their next steps beyond Leesbrook.
"I could not be prouder of their achievements; it is testament to their hard work and dedication.”
