An Oldham Metrolink stop was vandalised today (Tuesday, August 20), with glass smashed on the platform.
At around midday it is understood that two glass shelters were smashed at the Derker tram stop, which needed to be immediately replaced.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has now said work will be done to find and prosecute the people who carried out the damage.

Pete Sommers, TfGM’s Head of Metrolink said: “At 12:03 today, we can confirm two glass shelters were smashed at Derker Tram Stop, Oldham. Staff were immediately dispatched to clean up the platforms and the glass has been replaced.
“This is an act of criminal damage, CCTV footage obtained from the stop will be passed to the Transport Unit to find and prosecute the offenders.”
Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment.
