A school in Oldham is 'delighted' with A-level results after students achieved the best results in the school's recent history under a new sixth form head.
North Chadderton School saw 34 per cent of students receiving A* to A grades or distinctions, 53 per cent of all grades achieving a minimum of a B and 80 per cent being grade C or above.

Top achievers include Farhana Hussain who gained A*, A*, A and will be doing an apprenticeship at Diodes and Holly Giles who gained A*, A, A and will be going to study Psychology at the University of York.
Amy Gill, the head of sixth form, said: “This has been my first year leading the Sixth Form and we have had some record-breaking results.
“We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and success and we are extremely proud of our students hard work and success.
“They have very bright futures ahead of them!”
North Chadderton highlighted some of its other top achievers, which are listed below:
- Eddie Ford who gained A*, A, A and will be going to study Accounting and Finance at Newcastle University.
- Madeleine Wall who gained A*, A*, B and will be going to study Criminology at University of Liverpool.
- Ivani Kaushal who gained A, A, A and will be going to study Dentistry at University of Glasgow.
- Louie France-Thomas who gained A*, A, B and will be going to study Mechanical Engineering at Newcastle University.
- Katie Dean who gained Distinction*, Distinction, A, B and will be going to study Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance at University of York.
- Shahana Islam who gained Distinction*, A, B and will be doing an apprenticeship with Greater Manchester Police.
- Penelope Spencer-Simpson who gained A, A, B, B and will be going to study History at Kings College London.
- Laila Aspin who gained A, A, B and will be going to study Mental health Nursing at University of York.
- Amy Rylands who gained A, A, B and will be going to study Physics with Astrophysics at University of York.
- Thomas Garforth who gained A, A, B and will be going to study Physiotherapy at University of Hull.
- Tia Kershaw who gained Distinction, A, B and will be going to study Law with Business at University of Chester.
